An Italian maiolica albarello, Sicily, early 18th century, of waisted form, painted in blue with a floral pattern reserved with panels of sponged or mottled decoration, height 24.3cm (cracked), together with a tin-glazed earthenware jar painted in blue with four simple horizontal bands, one with pendant stylized flowerheads, height 17.5cm (chips). Note: a similar albarello was sold by Woolley & Wallis, 28th February 2017, Lot 138. Provenance: from the collection of the late Professor Maurice Stacey.
