LOT 1262
An Italian maiolica wet drug jar, probably Montelupo, late 17th or 18th century, the ovoid body painted in blue with a vacant label against a ground of simple scrolling flowers and foliage between blue and ochre banding, a stylized sun beneath the strap handle, an angled spout beneath the neck rim, height 31cm (some faults). Provenance: from the collection of the late Professor Maurice Stacey.
