O'Firderer, Dale End, Birmingham', cornered with gilt foliate scrolls, the hood with moulded arch pediment above a glazed door and turned columns, the trunk door with shaped top flanked by a pair of turned columns, on a plain base, height 231cm, with pendulum, two weights and a winding key (some faults).

A late 19th century French gilt brass mounted boulle and red tortoiseshell cased mantel clock with eight day movement striking on a gong, the embossed brass circular dial inset with enamel hour and minute plaques, the backplate stamped 'CHLS Frodsham, clock. maker. to. the. Queen, Paris' and numbered '15951', the case finely inlaid with engraved foliate scrolls, applied with gilt brass rococo scroll moulded mounts and flanked by pierced fret panels, height 34.5cm, with sunburst pendulum and winding key (minor faults).

A George III mahogany and crossbanded longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the painted arch dial with Roman numerals, subsidiary date and seconds dials, inscribed 'Blakeborough Otley' and numbered 'No. 2031', cornered with scenes of a figure emblematic of the Continents, the arch with a sailor's farewell, the hood with swan neck pediment, the trunk door with arched top above a plain base and bracket feet, height 238cm, with pendulum and two weights (pendulum lacking bob).

An early 18th century burr walnut longcase clock with brass five-pillar eight day movement striking on a bell, the brass break arch dial with silvered subsidiary date dial to arch, above a silvered chapter ring inscribed 'J. Windmills, London', framing a matt centre with silvered subsidiary seconds, cornered with cast and pierced gilt mask and scroll spandrels, the hood with moulded arch pediment, glazed door and turned columns, the rectangular trunk door with circular glazed lenticle, on a plain base and plinth, height 221cm, with pendulum and a pair of brass cased weights (alterations). Note: Joseph Windmills is recorded as an eminent clockmaker, who was made free of the Clockmakers Company in 1671 and became master in 1702. His son, Thomas, was apprenticed to him in 1686 and made free in 1695. Around 1700 Joseph and Thomas became partners and although the majority of their clocks continued to be singed Joseph Windmills, a few were signed 'Windmills' and a very small number were signed by Thomas. Both were highly involved with the Clockmaker Company and Thomas became master in 1718.
