"An extensive Minton Dynasty pattern part service produced for Asprey, most pieces with the Empire Hotel, Brunei, 'JP' monogram, comprising a two handled soup tureen and cover, two vegetable tureens and covers, open circular serving bowl, diameter 26cm, two graduated oval platters, longest 41cm, sauceboat and stand, circular cake server, nine dinner plates, 27cm diameter, nine dessert plates, 23cm diameter, nine two-handled soup bowls and stands, nine salad plates, 20.3cm diameter, nine soup plates, nine cereal bowls, nine dessert bowls, nine teacups and saucers, nine coffee cans and saucers, nine tea plates, 16.7cm diameter, and three small butter dishes, gilt printed marks to bases (minor faults). <br><br>Note: It is believed this service was originally made for the Empire Hotel and Country Club in Brunei. Jefri Bolkiah, the brother of the Sultan of Brunei, commissioned the exclusive 7 star hotel. The 'JP' monogram is believed to stand colloquially for Jefri's Palace although officially it represents Jerudong Park."
