LOT 1244
An early 19th century mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 13-inch painted breakarch dial with bust portrait of Admiral Nelson above Arabic hour numerals, subsidiary seconds and date dials, inscribed 'Wm Coulson N. Shields', the hood with moulded pediment and dentil cornice, glazed door and turned columns, the trunk door with shaped top, on ogee bracket feet, height 226cm, with pendulum and two weights. Note: William Coulson is a recorded Northumberland clockmaker working in North Shields between 1808 and 1850.
