LOT 1243
An early 19th century Irish mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 12-inch painted breakarch dial decorated with flowers and with black Roman hour numerals, outer Arabic minutes and subsidiary seconds, inscribed 'J Mountjoy Cork', the hood with moulded arch pediment, glazed door and turned columns, the trunk door with arched top, on bracket feet, height 214cm, with pendulum and two weights. Note: John Mountjoy is a recorded Irish clockmaker working in Cork, circa 1820s.
