LOT 1192
An early 19th century mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 12-inch painted breakarch dial with foundry scene automaton to arch above black Arabic hour numerals, subsidiary seconds and date aperture, inscribed 'Aquilla Barber Bristol', the hood with swan neck pediment, above glazed door and fluted columns, the trunk with cut corners and rectangular door, on a plain base and plinth, height 212.5cm, with two weights and pendulum. Note: Aquilla Barber is a recorded clockmaker working in Bristol from 1781 to 1846. He died in Newport in 1849.
