LOT 1193
A 19th century oak and mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 14-inch repainted breakarch dial decorated with a titled scene of 'Queen Mary & Her Secretary' to arch, above black Roman hour numerals, subsidiary seconds and date aperture, inscribed 'Jno Wilson Nuneaton', the hood with swan neck pediment, glazed door and turned columns, the triple arch trunk door with inlaid decoration on a similarly decorated cut cornered base, height 234cm, with pendulum and two weights. Note: John Wilson is a recorded Warwickshire clockmaker working in Nuneaton between 1828 and1854.
