A copper Elizabeth Claypole memorial medal 1658 by John Kirk, after Thomas Simon, probably struck circa 1750, obverse with lightly draped bust facing right with pearl necklace, reverse with wreath enclosing inscription 'Ann Cleypole daughter of Oliver Cromwell', Eimer 197, diameter 34mm, weight 20g (toned with some lustre), with an old ink-written collector's ticket, together with a copper Oak Society medal by C.N. Roettier and T. Pingo, circa 1750, obverse with bust of Prince Charles facing right, reverse with withered oak tree in centre, flourishing sapling to the left, Eimer 625, diameter 34mm, weight 14.3g (very fine with cabinet tone, one or two spots of verdigris forming). Provenance: the collection of the late Robert Pearce of Normanton Hall, Normanton-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire.
