LOT 3180
A late 17th century silver medal by George Bower commemorating the Earl of Shaftesbury and his acquittal of high treason 1681, obverse with draped bust facing right, signed 'GB.F' below, reverse with view of London and the Tower seen from the south bank of the Thames, the sun breaking through clouds above, dated 24 Nov 1681 below, Eimer 261, diameter 40mm, weight 29g (very fine with old cabinet tone, a little uneven, some minor rim knocks). Provenance: the collection of the late Robert Pearce of Normanton Hall, Normanton-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire.
