A Charles II silver medal by John Roettiers commemorating the Landing at Dover 1660, obverse with draped bust facing right within a frame of laurel branches, reverse with standing figures of England, Ireland and Scotland awaiting the arrival of an approaching ship, Eimer 211, diameter 57mm, weight 57.9g (extremely fine with lovely underlying cabinet tone and lustre), with what is possibly the original fishskin-covered presentation case with red material lining and hinged hook clasps (distorted). Provenance: the collection of the late Robert Pearce of Normanton Hall, Normanton-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire.
