A Charles II silver medal by J. Roettiers commemorating the Proposed Commercial Treaty with Spain 1666, obverse with laureate bust facing right, reverse with statue of Charles as a Roman general before a sea crowded with shipping, Eimer 236, diameter 55mm, weight 60.4g (very fine, marks to fields with lustrous old cabinet tone), with copy of original approval invoice from B.A. Seaby Ltd, dated 28th Jan 1946, Item 3, for £3-3s. Provenance: the collection of the late Robert Pearce of Normanton Hall, Normanton-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire.
