An early/mid-17th century Charles I Scottish silver coronation medal 1633 by Nicholas Briot, obverse with crowned bust facing left with intricate fine lace collar and Order of the Thistle, reverse with thistle plant, dated and signed 'B' below, Eimer 123, diameter 29mm, weight 14g (extremely fine, toned with reflective fields). Provenance: the collection of the late Robert Pearce of Normanton Hall, Normanton-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire.
