An early 17th century silver medal, attributed to Nicholas Briot, commemorating the birth of Prince Charles 1630, obverse with four heart-shaped shields with arms of England, France, Scotland and Ireland, united in the centre at their bases, rays in angles, reverse with five lines of script within scroll frame surround, dated 1630, diameter 30mm, weight 3.8g (very fine with old cabinet tone), with copy of original approval invoice from B.A. Seaby Ltd, dated 27th April 1946, for 12s-6d. Provenance: the collection of the late Robert Pearce of Normanton Hall, Normanton-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire.
