LOT 3149
An early 17th century silver medal, possibly by Nicholas Briot, commemorating the birth of Prince Charles 1630, obverse with cruciform shields of heart-shaped form with arms of England, France, Scotland and Ireland, united at the centre at their bases, reverse with five lines of script within tablet with decorative scroll surrounds, Eimer 115, diameter 30mm, weight 4.5g (extremely fine with old cabinet tone and underlying lustre), with copy of original approval invoice from B.A. Seaby Ltd, dated 27th April 1946, for 12s-6d. Provenance: the collection of the late Robert Pearce of Normanton Hall, Normanton-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire.
