LOT 3148
An early 17th century silver medal by Nicholas Briot commemorating the installation of Charles I as Knight of the Garter 1638, obverse with sheep sheltering beneath the tallest tree in a forest, marked by the Prince's coronet, a sailing vessel on the horizon, reverse with seven lines of script within garter border, Eimer 131, diameter 31mm, weight 8.9g (good/very fine with old cabinet tone). Provenance: the collection of the late Robert Pearce of Normanton Hall, Normanton-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire.
