LOT 1709
A Dutch delft charger, circa 1700, painted in blue in Kraak style with a central panel of ducks on the water's edge, the rim with panels of flowers and auspicious objects, the rim underside with a repeating pattern of crosses, dashes and circles, painted '7' to base, diameter 33.8cm (extensively restored), together with a similar delft charger, painted in blue with a chinoiserie garden within an ochre edged rim, diameter 34.8cm (some restoration). Provenance: from the private collection of David Armitage, former conservator to the Department of Eastern Art at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, between 1970 and 1999.
