A London delft bowl, Lambeth, 1756-83, painted to the interior with the inscription 'Success To the British Arms' within bianco-sopra-bianco foliate scroll detail, the exterior sides painted in blue and manganese with a chinoiserie landscape including pagodas, diameter 19.5cm (extensively repaired), together with two English delft plates, 1780s, painted in blue, the first with flowers, diameter 23.3cm, the second with a chinoiserie garden, diameter 23.3cm (second plate with rivet repair). Provenance: from the private collection of David Armitage, former conservator to the Department of Eastern Art at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, between 1970 and 1999.
