A Chinese underglaze blue and white porcelain snuff bottle, mark of Qianlong but later Qing dynasty, of cylindrical form, painted with two figures, heightened in turquoise and peach, iron red painted seal mark to base, fitted with a silver mounted rim and coral stopper, height excluding stopper 7cm. Provenance: from the private collection of David Armitage, former conservator to the Department of Eastern Art at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, between 1970 and 1999.
