An impressive 19th century Swiss Black Forest carved walnut cased musical chalet clock with eight day movement striking hours on a gong, the backplate stamped 'Leuenberger Interlaken 1025', the circular dial with applied gilt gothic Roman hour numerals, the case finely carved in the form of a four storey chalet with tile effect pitched roof, mirrored windows and terraces to each side, on a rectangular base with foliate scroll carved apron, the base housing a musical box, the cylinder playing six airs including God Save the Queen/King, the side with three brass levers detailed 'Music at Pleasure', 'Music on Clock Hour' and 'Change Airs', height 44cm, width 51cm, depth 30.3cm, with pendulum, clock winding key and musical box winding key.
