An early Victorian mahogany stick barometer, the dial with vernier scale and inscribed 'C.W. Dixey Optician to the Queen 3 New Bond St London', the bowfront case with moulded pediment above a glazed panel and thermometer panel to trunk, height 94.8cm (lacking thermometer, replaced cistern cover). Note: Charles Wastell Dixey is a recorded London barometer maker, working from his New Bond Street address between 1825 and 1860.
