A Japanese carved and stained ivory lotus-form zushi (portable shrine), Meiji/Taisho period, the exterior of each side carved as a lotus blossom, centred with a character, each interior finely carved in relief with a deity, the first depicting Fugen holding a lotus stem, seated on a double lotus throne, the other with Amitabha Buddha atop a double lotus throne, one exterior petal with incised and stained two-character signature, diameter 5.5cm.
