A Chinese famille rose porcelain vase, Republic style but probably later, the tapered ovoid body raised on a flared circular foot, painted with a boy trying to catch a rat whilst a man holding a candle aloft watches, opposing lines of black text and a red seal, iron red painted seal mark to base, height 19cm.
