LOT 1124
A William IV rosewood bracket clock, the brass eight day twin fusee movement striking hours on a bell with pull repeat and alarm mechanisms, the backplate detailed 'Frodsham Gracechurch Street London', the painted circular dial with strike/silent indicator, black Roman hour numerals and inscribed 'Frodsham Gracechurch St London', the rectangular case with applied fan and foliate mouldings, the sides with embossed foliate and loose ring handles above pierced brass fret panels, on a plinth base and bun feet, height 36cm, with pendulum. Note: John Frodsham is recorded in 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World' by Brian Loomes as working in Gracechurch Street, London, between 1822 and 1849.
