A Japanese silver wire inlaid cloisonné vase, probably by Hayashi Kodenji, Meiji period, of stout shouldered tapering form, the body finely worked with an eagle perched on rocks with spring and flowers, beneath flying sparrows and an acer, on a black ground, the neck with a lilac ground collar filled with white lotus flowers and scrolling green tendrils, with applied silver rim and baseplate, stamped mark to silver baseplate, height 15cm (minor bruise/stress hairlines to shoulder).
