A Japanese silver wire inlaid cloisonné vase by Hayashi Kodenji, Meiji period, of shouldered tapering form, finely worked with sparrows flying and perched amidst bamboo, above chrysanthemums on a midnight blue ground, the neck and footrim decorated with white and yellow flowerheads on a cloud scroll ground, stamped mark to base, height 18cm (restoration).
