Title in red and black, 2 folding engraved plates, 9pp. index of place names to rear. (A crease to the preliminaries, ink mark to margin of last text leaf, spotting to front and rear blanks.) Near contemporary speckled calf, later red morocco lettering piece to the spine (rubbing to extremities, and to spine). Note: large paper edition. Provenance: Marquis of Hastings (pencil note to the front pastedown).

HEATH, Charles (engraver). Views of London. London: Hurst, Robinson, & Co., R. Jennings, [1825.] Large paper copy, 4to (372 x 249mm.) Engraved title and 45 plates by Charles Heath after Dewint, Westall and Mackenzie, mounted on India paper with tissue-guards and letterpress text leaf describing each. (Spotting to title and plate margins, most plates disbound.) Later brown half-morocco, gilt titling to spine (rubbing to extremities). Provenance: Francis Gray Smart (bookplate to front pastedown).

Dry, 1819. Vol. 2 (only), first edition, 4to (348 x 279mm.) Title, dedication, half-title, 37 aquatint plates of Royal residences (4 hand-coloured). (Toning to margins, occasional browning.) Later half-brown morocco, red morocco lettering piece to the spine (endpapers replaced). Note: covers the interior and exteriors of Hampton Court, Kensington Palace and 'Buckingham House'. Provenance: E.E. Smith (ink inscribed verso of the frontispiece).

SUSSEX. The Leconfield Petworth Estate. [N.p.:] 1957. Folio, (374 x 231mm.) 5 folding colour maps and plans in rear pocket and numerous illustrations relating to the sale of 7,446 acres of the Leconfield Petworth Estate in West Sussex by the auctioneers Strutt & Parker, Lofts and Warner in July, 1957. (Mild toning.) Original grey card covers, black lettering to upper cover (wear to spine ends, spotting to covers). Note: held by the West Sussex record office but not by National Archives.

EROTICA. [Six printed panels of Chinese erotic scenes. N.p: circa 1900.] Folding sheet, (opening to 331 x 1905mm.) 8 mounted panels on one folding sheet, including 6 printed erotic scenes with hand-colouring and 2 text leaves. (Browning and light staining to margins, glue residue to verso.) Contemporary stained wooden boards (detached).

Second edition, 8vo signed in 4s (196 x 113mm.) 1p. publisher's advertisements to rear, decorative initial and ornament. (Occasional, minor soiling, browning, marginal loss to rear leaves, lacking blanks.) 20th century black morocco-backed paper-covered boards, green morocco lettering piece to the spine (replaced endpapers).

'Address', 42 hand-coloured captioned plates with tissue-guards. (Some offsetting, marginal browning, occasional minor soiling to plate margins, crease to last plate, frontispiece loose.) Original boards, later morocco lettering piece to upper cover (neatly rebacked, endpapers replaced, soiling to boards).

Later calf, red and black morocco lettering pieces to the spine (rubbing to extremities). Note: completed in the year 1258, 'The Gulistan' was first translated into English in 1808.

BIBLE, In English. The Holy Bible Containing the Old Testament and the New, Newly Translated out of the Original Tongues and with Former Translations Diligently Compared and Revised. Oxford: John Baskett, 1717-1716. 2 vols., folio, signed in 6s (522 x 312mm.) Title and 'Kalender' in red and black, engraved illustration of Clarendon building in Oxford by G. Vander Gucht on title, additional engraved title by Du-Bose, numerous engraved head and tailpieces and initials after Thornill, Cheron, Laguere and others, NT with separate title dated 1716 and engraved illustration depicting the Annunciation, including the Book of Psalms. (Lacking initial blanks [*2] and (possibly?) blank to rear of OT, Qqqq4, a tear to Aaaa6, marginal loss to Kk3 and Qq3, marginal tear to Nn1, some leaves heavily browned, occasional marginal damp-stain, at Qqq-Zzz2 damp-stain affecting text and also at Gggg2-Hhhh1, corner loss to Ppp1, many gatherings loose or loosening.) Contemporary half-morocco boards (lacking spine, worn). Note: known as the 'Vinegar' Bible due to the misprint of 'vinegar' for 'vineyard' above Luke XX; OT ends after Apocrypha at Qqqq3 and NT ends at Y4; Baskett's intention was to make a large and beautiful Bible that could be used in the pulpit, or shown in the homes of the aristocracy and perhaps for this reason the typographical errors were overlooked. Herbert calls it a 'magnificent edition'. [Herbert 942, variant A], [ESTC: T89281].

Contemporary brown calf, two morocco lettering pieces to the second and third compartments of the spines, floral gilt to the rest (loss to spine ends of volume 2, surface rubbing to all covers) (4).

Engraved double-page title, 'Contents' list on the front pastedown, 46 engraved maps on 44 sheets each with contemporary hand-colouring, 40pp. index to rear. (Maps with the county name in ink to the margins, some spotting to margins, a crease to the 'England' map, nearly half the maps with some marginal damp-staining, title loose.) Original half-calf (upper cover detached, heavily rubbed). Note: all the maps are dated between 1801 and 1809.
