A fine mid-19th century French rosewood and brass inlaid artist's box by Deforge & Carpentier of Paris, circa 1856-1863, the hinged lid with central brass inlaid crowned initials 'SM' within line borders and finely engraved brass corner crestings, the interior fully fitted with a bird's eye maple palette and a removable tray containing plated metal mixing dishes, ceramic and glass dishes and six brass topped bottles, the front and both sides fitted with drawers containing charcoal, watercolour cakes, a set of eighteen brass topped glass paint bottles by Deforge & Carpentier, watercolour paper and a hinged slope, bearing engraved maker's name to lock plate, width 47cm. Note: this box may relate to Sophie Marie, Duchess of Baden.

A large Edwardian oak cased artist's paint and drawing box, the hinged lid inlaid with a fan patera, the compartmentalized top tray and six drawers containing Winsor & Newton watercolours, oil paints and powder colours, numerous lead pencil refills in original packaging, a ceramic mixing palette and a packet of gold leaf with squirrel hair brush applicator, width of case 45cm.

A George III mahogany cased artist's box by George Blackman of Oxford Street, London, the hinged lid bearing printed paper maker's label to the inside, fitted with some watercolour cakes and a small ceramic mixing palette, width 22cm.

A late Victorian mahogany cased folding artist's box by C. Roberson & Co of London, the double-hinged top opening to reveal a baize-lined surface and raised on a ratchet strut, the end drawer containing watercolour cakes, width 23.5cm (some historic woodworm to hinged top).

An early 20th century French cased set of liquid paints, the maker's label detailed 'Couleurs Liquides pour Imitation de Tapisseries', containing twelve glass bottles of various colours, width 21cm.
