A Chinese blanc-de-Chine porcelain figural toy whistle, Kangxi period, modelled as a Dutchman resting his left foot on the neck of a Buddhistic lion, raised on a hexagonal base with two pierced apertures, height 7cm (minor chips). Note: for a similarly modelled toy whistle, see plate 120 of P.J. Donnelly's 'Blanc de Chine', 1969, together with a Chinese blanc-de-Chine porcelain figural toy whistle, Kangxi period, modelled as a Dutchman seated on the back of a dragon, height 4cm (minor faults).
