RUPERT THE BEAR ANNUALS. - [Alfred BESTALL et al.] Rupert the Bear. London: Daily Express Publications, 1936-2022. 87 vols., 4to (244 x 175mm to 299 x 215mm.) Numerous illustrations. (Name inscribed in most volumes up until 1965, and not inscribed from 1966 onwards, and not inscribed in volumes 1937, 1955, 1959, 1961 and 1963, price-clipped in only seven volumes, being 1948, 1957-1959, 1963, 1966 and 1971, some colouring done in only 5 volumes, being 1940(?), 1943, 1955, 1957 and 1960, and the 'Magic Painting' is neatly or partially done in most copies between 1960-1968 but not done in 1966 and 1968, occasional spotting and browning.) Original red cloth (4), pictorial card covers (8), or pictorial boards (75) (inner hinge of '1936' weakened and dust-soiling to upper cover, lower part of spine panel of '1942' and '1944' missing, earlier volumes rubbed to extremities), dust-jacket for the 70th anniversary edition. Note: a complete run of Rupert the Bear annuals (87).

An Account Given of the Principles and Practices of Several Nonconformists. London: Thomas Parkhurst, 1682. (Browning, p.29 small tear). 4to (196 x 140mm.) Contemporary calf (lower cover detached, inner hinge weakened). Note: scarce. DU CREUX, Francois. Historiae Canadensis, seu Novae-Franciae libri decem, Ad Annum usque Christi MDCLVI. Paris: Sebastian Cramoisy & Sebastian Mabre-Cramoisy, 1664. 4to (240 x 176mm.) Engraved printer's device on title-page, woodcut initials and ornaments, 12 engraved plates showing Indian manners and customs, animals and natural history, 5pp. index to rear, 1p. errata. (Lacking the map of 'Nova Francia' and the plate of the Jesuit martyrs, light to moderate browning, minor soiling to title, illegible ink name to title, lacking blanks.) Near contemporary calf (rebacked, endpapers replaced, extremities rubbed). Note: Du Creux never visited Canada but compiled this history from Jesuit Relations, the annual reports that Jesuit missionaries filed with their superiors in France. Provenance: 'Assistentiae Galliae Soc. Jesu' (ink name stamp to the title-page); 'Pont. Univ. Romae' (ink stamp to the title-page); 'Missiones P. Praep Generalis S.' (ink stamp to the title-page).
