James Harvard Thomas - 'Castagnettes', a late 19th/early 20th century patinated cast bronze figure of a dancing nude male playing castanets, modelled in the manner of antiquity, raised on an oval pedestal, height 35.5cm. Note: a version of Castagnettes is in the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, while another is in the Tate general collections (inv. No. NO4739). Provenance: Elton John and his London Lifestyle, Sotheby's sale LO3503, 30th September 2003, Lot 0124.
