A Victorian gold and black enamelled oval mourning brooch relating to John Brown, a Scottish servant and favourite of Queen Victoria, the front glazed with an enamelled portrait within a scrolled enamelled surround, detailed to the back of the enamel ‘Copy.by.A.L Henderson’, the back of the frame engraved ‘Dear J.B.b:8th.Decr.1826.d:27th.March 1883’ beneath ‘From V R I’, weight 16.1g, width 3.4cm, length 4cm, with a case.
