Two very rare Bank of Rhodesia and Nyasaland banknote die proof engraver's test strikes in brown and black with the coat of arms of the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland, both on oversized paper/card with near full-plate margins, both titled to lower half 'Southern Rhodesia & Nyasaland' below 'Bradbury Wilkinson & Co Ld, New Malden, Surrey, England' and both numbered '1470' (both very fine). Note: this coat of arms design was used on notes issued in 1956. Provenance: from the personal archive of the late Alan Dow, master banknote engraver to Bradbury Wilkinson & Co and the Bank of England.
