A group of three Banco Central de Bolivia banknote progressive die proof engraver's test strike stages for the obverse of an undenominated note, colour trials in blue with portrait vignette of Antonio José de Sucre to right side, erased values to corners, on oversized paper/card with partial plate margins, together with three die proof engraver's test strike portrait vignettes of Antonio José de Sucre, as used on the aforementioned note, comprising two in brown and one in black (all good/very fine, handling marks, paper discolouration, one with graffiti to reverse). Note: this note does not seem to have gone into production, but elements of it were probably used on others. Provenance: from the personal archive of the late Alan Dow, master banknote engraver to Bradbury Wilkinson & Co and the Bank of England.
