LOT 1255
A Regency brass inlaid mahogany bracket clock, the eight day twin fusee movement striking hours on a bell with pull repeat mechanism, the backplate signed 'Robt Simpson London', the similarly signed 8-inch painted circular dial with black Roman hour numerals and strike/silent indicator at 12 o'clock, the arched case with single pad top above gilt foliate and loose ring handles, cut corners and gilt arched fret panels to sides, on a rectangular base and gilt brass ball feet, height 44cm, with pendulum. Note: Robert Simpson is a recorded London clockmaker working from various London premises, including a Strand address from pre-1782 until his death in 1839.
