LOT 1248
A mid-19th century oak and mahogany crossbanded longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 14-inch painted breakarch dial decorated with huntsman and hounds to arch above black Roman hour numerals, subsidiary seconds and date dials, inscribed 'Alldridge Birmingham', the hood with swan neck pediment, glazed door and turned columns, the cut cornered trunk on a panelled base and bracket feet, height 242cm, with pendulum and two weights. Note: Edwin Alldridge is a recorded Birmingham clockmaker working between 1833 and 1864.
