ILLUMINATED INITIALS. [Two late 15th – to early 16th century illuminated initials, from Italy.] Single initials (115 x 117mm and 75 x 73mm.) Historiated initial ‘O’ depicting St. Margaret (smaller) and the other illuminated ‘O’ decorative with foliage, both mounted and in gilt frames of deep section. Note: with thanks to Peter Kidd for his assistance in cataloguing this lot (2).
