ARABIC. – Mehmed EMIN. Musavver Tarif-I Hayvanatn (Osmanisches Tierbuch) [Illustrated Guide to Animals]. Istanbul: M. Katbaai Osmaniye, 1893. Second edition, 4to (256 x 181mm.) 24 double-paged chromolithographed plates, tissue-guards, a bestiary of animals, fishes, reptiles, birds and insects. (Mild toning, inner hinge cracked and outer weakened, some loss to front-free endpaper.) Original cloth-backed pictorial boards (spine stained, lightly rubbed). Note: scarce. – And a further illustrated volume (Hampden Gordon and M.C. Tindall’s ‘Our Hospital ABC’, [1916], 4to, and another copy) (3).
