RUSSIA. – William SIMPSON. The Seat in the War in the East. London: P. & D. Colnaghi, 1856. Second series (only). First edition, folio (544 x 356mm.) 14pp. text, lithographed pictorial title, 40 tinted lithograph plates. (Preliminaries loose, marginal losses to title and spotting, 9 plates with insect-damage to upper margin, all plates with marginal spotting or dust-soiling, several with chipping to lower margins and most plates with a corner crease.) Original boards (boards detached, worn). – And a further volume (I.E.A. Dolby’s ‘Prague, Illustrated’, with 7 plates, [circa 1850], folio) (2).
