A Charles II silver medal by J. Roettiers commemorating the Battle of Lowestoft and the successful naval endeavours against the Dutch in 1665, obverse with laureate and draped bust, reverse with the king as a Roman general standing on a shore, viewing a naval engagement, Eimer 230, diameter 62mm, weight 91.8g (extremely fine with even cabinet tone), with original approval invoice from B.A. Seaby Ltd, dated 28th Jan 1946, Item 2, for £2-10s, and an old ink-written ticket for another medal. Provenance: the collection of the late Robert Pearce of Normanton Hall, Normanton-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire.
