A late 17th century bronze medal by J. Roettiers, circa 1683, probably a laudatory medal or award for services, obverse with bust of Charles II facing right with long hair, armour and mantle, signed 'J.R.' on truncation, reverse with royal arms within garter, lion and unicorn supporters at the sides, lion, crown and plumes above, like Eimer 267 but bronze variant, diameter 53mm, weight 51g (extremely fine with original bronze finish), with an old ink-written collector's ticket and copy of original approval invoice from B.A. Seaby Ltd, dated 27th April 1946, for 15s. Provenance: the collection of the late Robert Pearce of Normanton Hall, Normanton-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire.
