A Charles I cast and chased silver royalist badge by Thomas Rawlins, obverse with bust of Charles facing right with fine lace collar, reverse with bust of Henrietta Maria facing left with hair up, fine drapery and pearl necklace, signed 'T. Rawlins' below, suspension loops to top and bottom and ball-shaped markers to sides, Eimer 167b, height 45mm, width 44mm, weight 14.2g (extremely fine with old cabinet tone, some underlying lustre), with an old ink-written collector's ticket. Provenance: the collection of the late Robert Pearce of Normanton Hall, Normanton-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire.
