LOT 1715
A set of six blue painted Dutch delft tiles, 18th century, each with a circular panel depicting a biblical subject, the corners with stylized foliate motifs, held within an oak frame, frame dimensions 50cm by 36.5cm, together with a set of four delft tiles, painted in blue with children playing, framed, and a six-tile panel, painted in blue with a ship in sail, unframed (faults). Provenance: from the private collection of David Armitage, former conservator to the Department of Eastern Art at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, between 1970 and 1999.
