A Japanese Satsuma earthenware bottle vase by Ryozan, Meiji period, the slender tapering neck painted and gilt with bijin and children at play within simulated brocade borders, above a compressed circular body painted and gilt with opposing figural panels, divided by panels of sparrow with wisteria and a fenced chrysanthemum garden, gilt and black Ryozan signature beneath Yasuda trade mark to base, height 14.4cm.
