LOT 1271
A George III provincial oak longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 12-inch silvered breakarch dial with subsidiary seconds and date aperture, inscribed 'William Nash Bridge' to arch, the hood with brass finials, glazed door and fluted columns, the trunk with arched door, on a plain base and plinth, height 231cm, with pendulum and two weights. Note: William Nash is a recorded Kent clockmaker working in Bridge in 1759 before going into partnership with his brother, John Nash, from 1762 to 1769 and then working alone until his death in 1794.
