A Chinese hair crystal snuff bottle, Qing dynasty, of flattened ovoid form, decorated with a dense network of black rutile hairs, height 5.6cm, fitted with a carved green jadeite frog stopper. Provenance: from the private collection of David Armitage, former conservator to the Department of Eastern Art at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, between 1970 and 1999.
