LOT 1017
A Chinese underglaze red and white porcelain bottle vase, mark of Kangxi but later Qing dynasty, the globular body and narrow neck painted with a standing figure and two bats flying above, underglaze blue six-character mark to base, height 13.2cm (restored rim), with carved hardwood stand. Provenance: from the private collection of David Armitage, former conservator to the Department of Eastern Art at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, between 1970 and 1999.
