A Chinese blue and white export porcelain square tile, Kangxi period, painted with a circular panel of two birds flying above a blossoming branch and rocks, 13cm x 13cm, gilt framed, together with another blue and white porcelain square tile, painted with a figure crossing a bridge in a coastal landscape, 15cm x 15.5cm, framed. Provenance: from the private collection of David Armitage, former conservator to the Department of Eastern Art at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, between 1970 and 1999.
