A George III oak longcase clock with thirty hour movement striking on a bell via an outside countwheel, the 11-inch square brass dial with Roman hour numerals, subsidiary date dial and inscribed 'Grenville Brighton', the hood with moulded pediment and glazed door, the trunk with rectangular door, on a plain base and plinth, height 197.5cm, with pendulum and weight. Note: Jonathan Grenville is recorded as working from North Street, Brighton, from 1799 to 1800.
