STOWE, Harriet Beecher. Uncle Tom's Cabin. London: John Cassell, 1852. First U.K. edition, 8vo (198 x 123mm.) Portrait frontispiece with tissue-guard, title-page vignette, 25 wood-engraved illustrations by George Cruikshank, 1p. publisher's advertisement to rear. (Small marks to tissue-guard, toning, lacking 2 plates.) Contemporary black cloth-backed buckram (rubbing to joints and extremities). - And a further nine volumes, all by Charles Dickens (including a first edition of 'Dombey and Son', 1848, 8vo, and a first edition, early issue of 'The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby', 1839, 8vo) (10).
